Wesley Smith
W. Clay Smith, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology Research at the University of Florida. He received his Ph.D. in neurobiology from Yale University in 1990 and his B.S. and M.S. in entomology from the University of Florida in 1986. His research interests lie in the biochemistry of phototransduction and the molecular and cellular biology of photoreceptors. He serves as the Director of the Ocular Gene Therapy Core for production of AAV to treat blinding diseases, the Director of Research for the Department of Ophthalmology, and Director for the Center for Vision Research.
