Julie Maupin

Julie Maupin-Furlow, Ph.D., is a professor in the Microbiology and Cell Science Department at the University of Florida. She came to Florida after conducting extensive postdoctoral work in the Department of Anaerobic Microbiology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Maupin-Furlow’s research interests include regulation of cells by proteolytic enzymes, with a specialization in proteasomes from the methanogenic and halophilic archaea.
