Hitomi Greenslet

Hitomi Yamaguchi Greenslet, Ph.D., is both an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and a faculty member of the Center for Manufacturing Innovation at the University of Florida. She earned a Ph.D. in engineering at Utsunomiya University in 1996. Dr. Greenslet has won several awards, including two for best paper presented at international conferences. She leads the Nontraditional Manufacturing Laboratory at the University of Florida, which develops magnetic field-assisted finishing processes that have gained industry attention by improving productivity and quality, reducing manufacturing costs, and enabling new designs. Her research combines the fields of nontraditional manufacturing, ultra-precision finishing, material science, optical engineering, and biomedical engineering.
