Willem Vermerris

Wilfred Vermerris, Ph.D., is a professor in the University of Florida’s Department of Microbiology and Cell Science in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. He earned his Ph.D. in genetics from North Carolina State University. His research focuses on the genetic improvement of bioenergy crops and the development of value-added products from biorefinery residues.
