Nicole Alana Horenstein, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida. She earned her Ph.D. from Columbia University (1988) working on the total synthesis of tunichromes and her M.S. degree from Michigan State (1986) studying natural products isolation and synthetic methods. Dr. Horenstein did post-doctoral studies at Berkeley (1988-1989) and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1989-1993). Her research encompasses design and synthesis of new pharmacological agents for nicotinic receptors, understanding their mode of action, and the enzymology and biosynthesis of iminosugars.
