Kevin Butler Kevin Butler, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering at the University of Florida. Dr. Butler earned his Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 2010. He has received the National Science Foundation CAREER award and was named International Educator of the Year within the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. Dr. Butler’s research focuses on security issues as they relate to storage systems, large-scale systems architectures, and networks. His recent work includes understanding the security of portable storage and the USB interface, mobile phone security, protection of internet traffic and the SSL infrastructure, and attacks and defenses against the cloud infrastructure.
