Blanka Sharma

Blanka Sharma, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida, where she is the principal investigator of the Sharma Lab. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Sharma was featured among "20 under 40" outstanding young faculty members by the American Society for Engineering Education in 2014. Her research is focused on understanding the fundamental interactions between stem cells and diseased/injured tissues, and developing biomaterials to better control stem cell behavior in the body.
