Alfred Lewin

Alfred Lewin, Ph.D., is the Shaler-Richardson Professor of Ophthalmic Sciences at the Center for Vision Research and is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida. He received his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Chicago, after which he received postdoctoral training in Basel, Switzerland. His current research focuses on developing both gene and pharmacologic therapies for diseases of the retina and optic nerve.
