James Trainham

James Trainham, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida. Dr. Trainham earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Before joining UF, he spent most of his professional career in industry which included global vice president of Science and Technology at PPG Industries, and a 25-year career at the DuPont Company. Dr. Trainham has multiple awards and honors and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1997. He also has 47 patents and publications. Dr. Trainham’s research interest focuses on renewable energy.
