Russell Mizell Russ Mizell, Ph.D., is a professor emeritus of entomology in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florida. Dr. Mizell has 45 years of experience in entomology and specializes in integrated pest management, insect behavior, biology, ecology and biological control. He has invented a number of new detection and monitoring methods for insect pests and holds one U.S. patent from his research. He has also authored or coauthored 400 publications. His current research focuses on methods of evaluating and enhancing biological control agents, monitoring methods including new trap development, and the biological control, nutrition and behavioral ecology of fruit and nut pests.
