Robert Burne
Robert A. Burne, Ph.D., is a distinguished professor of the Department of Oral Biology at the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of Rochester, where he served on faculty from 1990 to 2001 before joining UF as professor and chair in 2001. Burne is an internationally respected researcher and educator who has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers on the genetics, physiology and virulence of bacteria. The Burne lab studies the genetics, physiology, biochemistry, and ecology of the interactions of beneficial bacterial with overt and opportunistic pathogens.
