Franziska Schmidt

Franziska Schmidt, Ph.D., is the head of the materials characterization and development laboratory at the prosthodontics department at the Charité Universitaetsmedizin Berlin. She has an engineering degree and a doctoral degree in materials science, both from the Technische Universität Berlin. Before joining the Charité Universitaetsmedizin Berlin, she was a research fellow at the division “Advanced Multi-materials Processing” at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) under the guidance of Jens Günster. Her research interests include mechanical, chemical, and biological properties and long-term behavior of dental materials, especially ceramics, polymers and composites, and additive manufacturing of these.
