Fredy Altpeter

Fredy Altpeter, Ph.D., is a professor at the University of Florida – IFAS where he coordinates a crop biotechnology research program for the agronomy department. Dr. Altpeter earned his doctorate in Agronomy at the University of Hohenheim in Germany. Dr. Altpeter's research integrates plant breeding, biotechnology and translational genomics for genetic improvement of sugarcane and other crops. He received a distinguished scientist award from the Society for In Vitro Biology and is an elected fellow of the Crop Science Society of America and the Society for In Vitro Biology.
