Thomas Schmittgen

Thomas Schmittgen, Ph.D., is a professor and chair in the Department of Pharmaceutics at University of Florida’s College of Pharmacy. Dr. Schmittgen received both his B.S. in pharmacy and Ph.D. in pharmaceutics from the Ohio State University in 1985 and 1992, respectively. His research focuses on noncoding RNAs and cancer with emphasis on using microRNAs as therapeutic or diagnostic agents. He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
