Janise McNair, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. Dr. McNair earned her Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000. In 2023, she received a Best Paper Session recognition at the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) General Meeting. She is a Nelms Faculty Fellow in the UF Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World. Dr. McNair’s research focuses on AI-assisted network protocol development and cross-layer cybersecurity in the next generation of wireless systems, smart grid systems, IoT systems in construction, and IoT systems in agriculture.
