Clayton Mathews
Clayton Mathews, Ph.D., is a Sebastian Family Professor in the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine. He received his B.S. in biochemistry from the North Carolina State University in 1991 and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 1997. Dr. Mathews’ research focuses on type 1 diabetes, the means by which it develops and how insulin-secreting pancreatic beta cells are active contributors to the processes that leads to type 1 diabetes.
