Kenneth Rand

Kenneth Rand, M.D.,  is a professor of pathology and medicine at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine. He is also the director of Clinical Microbiology and Virology at Shands Hospital, and Chief of the Division of Clinical Pathology in the Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida. He earned his M.D. in medicine at Stanford University. His research interests include bacterial and viral pathogen detection, bacterial strain typing/discrimination using mass spectrometry, multiplex PCR assays in the clinical microbiology laboratory, and gut microbiome in Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy.
