Donald Phinney
Donald G. Phinney, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology. He received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Temple University School of Medicine and trained as an American Cancer Society Fellow at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. Dr. Phinney is nationally and internationally recognized as an expert on mesenchymal stem/stromal cell biology and has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, numerous book chapters, edited two books on adult stem cells. He also served as Editor for the scientific journals Stem Cells and Cytotherapy. His current lab interests include drug discovery and development of highly efficacious cell-based and RNA-targeting therapies for treating disease.
