James Peterson

James Peterson, Ph.D., R.N., is a lab manager and research scientist in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Therapy within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in cancer therapy from the University of California, Davis, in 1999. Dr. Peterson's research interests include ocular gene therapy, viral therapeutics for eye diseases, and the development of novel bio-analytical techniques. He has extensive experience in molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and AAV vector production. Before joining the UF faculty, he worked on projects ranging from cancer therapy to plant-based biofuels.
