Lauren Eccles, is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida, where she conducts research in the Stoppel Lab. Lauren joined the lab in Fall 2022 after completing her Bachelor’s degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering at the University of Tennessee. Eccle’s research focuses on leveraging silk materials from various sources for applications in environmental engineering. Her work contributes to the lab’s broader mission of developing sustainable, responsive biomaterials using natural biopolymers. Her research interests include biomaterials development, material characterization, and the intersection of silk science with environmental sustainability.
