Heather Blackwell

Heather Blackwell is a biomedical engineering Ph.D. candidate at the University of Florida, who is passionate about developing new strategies to improve biomanufacturing and new cellular therapies. Before obtaining her MSc in BME from UF in 2022, she was employed as a medical laboratory scientist at LifeSouth Community Blood Centers. Her research focuses on improving cellular therapies for blood cancer patients by leveraging engineering techniques to develop novel approaches to isolate and increase blood stem cells required for stem cell transplants.
