Leonardo Ferreira, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the University of Florida’s College of Health and Human Performance, Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology. He earned his Ph.D. in applied physiology from Kansas State University. Dr. Ferreira’s research focuses on advancing the treatment of breathing and locomotor muscle abnormalities related to heart failure. His work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Heart Association for almost a decade.
