Xin Wang, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida. Dr. Wang earned his Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2013. research interests include studying synthetic biology applications of cells and photosynthesis regulation and redesign in cyanobacteria. Combining these insights made in both these areas to transfer genetic traits into crop plants for increased photosynthesis and food production is a long-term goal of his group.
