Luiz F. Roesch, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida. He obtained his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Biochemistry of Soil from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2007 and completed his post-doctoral training at the University of Florida Department of Microbiology and Cell Science in 2009. Dr. Roesch has expertise in microbial ecology, the human microbiome, and bioinformatics. Dr. Roesch’s primary research focuses on testing fundamental hypotheses in the human microbiome, identifying biomarkers of health and disease, and developing and spreading data analysis standards in the microbiome field.
