Benjamin Shickel, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida. He received his master’s and Ph.D. in computer science at UF. He is the assistant professor of quantitative health for the Department of Medicine and the assistant director of artificial intelligence research for the Intelligent Critical Care Center (IC3). His research aims to integrate artificial intelligence and deep learning into electronic health record data to improve clinical decision-making and personalized patient insights.
