Sampa Gupta, Ph.D., is an assistant scientist in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. She earned her Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from CSIR–Central Drug Research Institute in India and both her M.S. and B.S. degrees in chemistry from the University of Kalyani, India. Dr. Gupta’s research centers on synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry, with a focus on structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies, natural product synthesis, and the design of biologically active small molecules. Her current work involves developing and optimizing novel compounds for the treatment of pain and opioid use disorder.
