Felix Enciso Rodríguez, Ph.D., is a plant molecular biologist and researcher at the University of Florida, where he leads molecular biology and genome editing efforts in the blueberry breeding program. His work focuses on implementing genomic selection strategies and cutting-edge genome editing tools to accelerate the development of improved blueberry cultivars, including validation of editing reagents and molecular markers for precision breeding. He completed his Ph.D. in plant breeding, genetics, and biotechnology at Michigan State University and has held research positions that bridged breeding, plant transformation, and molecular characterization of germplasm collections. His interdisciplinary work supports the development of advanced breeding technologies for sustainable and high-value crops.
