Manuel Gastelbondo, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral associate and In Vitro Breeding Team Leader in the Blueberry Breeding and Genomics Program at the University of Florida. He holds a Ph.D. in plant breeding from the University of Florida and has over a decade of experience in plant breeding and research, including leadership roles in research and development for international horticultural programs. Dr. Gastelbondo applies molecular and cellular breeding techniques, including tissue culture, ploidy manipulation, and protoplast development, to support advanced crop improvement and trait evaluation in blueberry and other specialty crops.
